Green Building
Amvic is passionate about the environment which is why they produce innovative products that are functional, cost effective and safe for the environment. Amvic is a member and supporter of the USGBC and our products help contribute points towards LEED Certification and other green rating systems.
Reduces Energy Consumption & Harmful Emissions
Amvic ICF structures combine expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation and concrete thermal mass. This highly effective combination of materials minimizes temperature fluctuations by absorbing and storing heat. This equates to an average of approximately 30-50% reduction in energy consumption for heating and cooling, which results in an equivalent reduction in harmful emissions.
Amvic manufacturing centers use steam and cold water to produce ICFs. No CFCs, HCFCs, formaldehyde or any chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Therefore no off-gassing is present.
Save Trees
Using ICFs reduce the amount of lumber consumed and essentially reduces the number of trees cut down. These trees are important for oxygen production and carbon dioxide absorption.
Uses Recycled Materials
Amvic ICF webs are manufactured using 100% post-industrial recycled polypropylene. This means over 60% of the weight of an ICF block is made up of recycled materials.
Minimizes Waste
Amvic ICFs can generate as little as 1% construction waste. This greatly reduces contributions to land fills, which produces methane gases.
Contributes to LEED Certification
Amvic ICF can greatly contribute to LEED Certification of a structure. Amvic has a third party LEED Product Assessment which reports a contribution of over 20 points towards certification.
